Uralla Arts gets mobilised once more for the sixth annual Uralla Lantern Parade and Show. This year will be bigger and better than ever with a new range of special lanterns coming to town for the event, including the massive lantern puppets Dirt Girl and Green Man. The event always celebrates Earth Hour and this year on Saturday 31st March we do once more. The focus is firmly on the environment with Sydney environmental educator and theatre practitioner Thor Bloomfield working with Uralla Arts and the Uralla community to produce the Show in Alma Park after the parade.

The Uralla Lantern Parade is becoming recognised as a truly charming event on the regional arts calendar.

Keep an eye out for more info closer to the end of March.

Poetry with Gusto

Poetry with Gusto

Uralla’s fledgling poetry group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7pm at Caffe Gusto in Bridge St (opposite the Top Pub). This is an informal gathering for anyone who enjoys words. You can read your own or anyone’s poetry or prose or just enjoy the ambience of the antiquarian bookshop surrounds. In comfy armchairs next to the wood burner, you can share the written word. It is a lot of fun and a very comfortable evening out. Caffe Gusto hosts Ross and Kim Burnet have all sorts of Italian food, pizzas, great coffee and sweet treats if you would like to partake. Bring your wine and your words of wisdom or silliness.

Hope to see you there.
